The club will be open Thursday May 17 from 5pm-8pm, Friday May 18 from 9am-5pm, Saturday May 19 and Sunday May 20 from 9am-4pm. If you have any questions about hall rentals, summer parking or next season’s curling information feel free to email the club at manager@rideaucurlingclub.com or call 613-232-9665 and leave a message. We will return your call or email within 24 hours of opening.

2012 Rideau Curling Club Golf Tournament

Book the day off for the annual Rideau CC golf tournament on Friday, June 22, 2012.

We will be playing at the Casselview Golf Course with a 2:00 Shotgun start. Power carts included. Roast beef dinner follows.

Send your 2012 Rideau Golf Tournament sign-up form with money to the manager.

Congratulations go out to all teams that made it to the club championships. Team Penz and Team Cochrane played in the final today at 12:30 with Team Cochrane coming out victorious, for their second Keeler Cup victory in as many years.

Manager on Ice

Pierre Mondor throws his first curling stone.

Pierre has been out on the ice for his first curling lesson. You can judge from the picture how well he did.

You can also come out to the Battle of the Sexes on Wednesday Dec 21 to see Pierre curl his first game. Call the club or drop in to sign up at the bar.

Reminder: Membership Fees are Due Sept 15

Membership fees are due in full by September 15^th, 2011. A surcharge of $25 will be added if payment is late (i.e. not paid by that date). Teams must consist of at least four fully paid members in order to ensure a spot in a league. Teams without four fully paid members have the option to pay the fourth membership fee to retain their spot.

Rideau Manager Announcement

I am very pleased to announce that we have hired Pierre Mondor as the General Manager of the Rideau Curling Club.

Pierre will start work at the club on Monday, September 12^th.

Pierre comes to us from his position as the General Manager of the Larrimac Golf course (he is not a curler, but is keen to learn about curling) where he worked from 2009-present. Prior to that he was a Manager at the Lone Star restaurant in Kanata, and also worked at in other F&B positions.

He is married and has two small children, and is fluently bilingual. He is originally from Saskatchewan but now lives in Gatineau.

We will be having an open house at the curling club on Tuesday, September 27 from 6-9pm and I hope that you will come out and welcome Pierre to the Rideau Curling Club. We will also be making a farewell presentation to Audrey Frey, to thank her for her 10 years of service as the our General Manager.

I look forward to our season of curling and hope to see you on the 27^th.
